Getting an image of your website
As mentioned in the previous tutorial look for sites that interest you. By doing so you are able to get a sense of how your website might look, feel, and the contents it may have. Take some of the ideas on other sites and incorporate them in your own way on your own site. Most importantly I am not saying to copy a website idea but instead do the opposite by coming up with your own unique ideas by taking old ideas and building upon them. Another key important idea is to have a unique site which will allow your site to be standing out in front because no one else has that content besides you. By being more unique people will come to your site because you have content that no one else has. Making a unique website has many things to it such as having a great design, content, navigation through the site, links, pictures, and even the slightest details like the color you pick for a page or text. Last but not least try to make your website look professional for example being professional is having correct information and no broken links. When you look at sites that interest you keep in mind these questions which will help you come up with some ideas of your own:
- What do you like about this?
- What things does this website has that others don't?
- What can you do better?
- What are some unique things that interest you?
- How can you incorporate some of the things to your own site?
- What content does this site have?
- How is the navigational structure of this site? (Links, menu, is it easy to access pages?)
